Lineups: Nori Aoki rests as Royals look to stay in first place against Tigers

Royals outfielder Nori Aoki is available as a late-game substitution, but manager Ned Yost wanted to give him a day off. Aoki left Tuesday’s game due to a cramp in his left groin muscle.

The Royals are in first place. They can stay there on Wednesday with their 10th consecutive victory. The game starts as 12:08 p.m., and can be seen on Fox Sports Kansas City.

Here are the lineups as Jeremy Guthrie (3-6, 4.04 ERA) faces Drew Smyly (3-5, 3.58 ERA):
