Alcides Escobar returns to Royals lineup against White Sox

Royals manager Ned Yost penciled Alcides Escobar into his lineup for Saturday afternoon, even after Escobar left the previous night’s game with a cramp in his left calf.

Royals manager Ned Yost penciled Alcides Escobar into his lineup for Saturday afternoon, even after Escobar left the previous night’s game with a cramp in his left calf. The team instructed Escobar to tell them if he felt any discomfort during pre-game exercises.

"Yesterday it felt really tight," Escobar said. "Right now, I’m not feeling bad."

If his leg holds up, he’ll join his teammates at 1:10 p.m. at U.S. Cellular Field. The game can be seen on Fox Sports Kansas City.

Here are the lineups as Danny Duffy (3-5, 3.26 ERA) faces Hector Noesi (2-3, 4.21 ERA):
