The good thing about a forecast that includes a low temperature in single digits?
It means baseball is not far behind. A cold front is supposed to hit the area this weekend, but in a little more than three weeks, the Royals players will be here, too.
Royals FanFest is noon to 9 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 29, and 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 30, but the first two hours of each day are open only to season-ticket holders. Download True Blue, our Royals app, for complete coverage of the Royals season.
Tickets will include a specific time when fans can enter FanFest.

After FanFest, the Royals players will head home and start packing. That’s because pitchers and catchers report to spring training in Surprise, Ariz., on Feb. 18. The full squad reports on Feb. 22.
The first exhibition game is March 2 vs. Rangers in Surprise.
The Royals open the regular season against the New York Mets at Kauffman Stadium on April 3. The World Series rematch has a first pitch time of 7:35 p.m., and the game will be shown on ESPN.
