Omar Infante has the day off as the Royals face Texas once again here at Surprise Stadium.

Here is the lineup:

1. Nori Aoki, RF.

2. Jason Donald, 2B.

3. Eric Hosmer, 1B.

4. Billy Butler, DH.

5. Alex Gordon, LF.

6. Salvador Perez, C.

7. Mike Moustakas, 3B.

8. Lorenzo Cain, CF.

9. Christian Colon, SS.

"The younger guys need the at-bats to get going," manager Ned Yost said. "The older guys, no."

The pitchers available for the Royals on Friday: James Shields, Chris Dwyer, Jason Adam, Tim Collins, Everett Teaford, Sugar Ray Marion and Michael Mariot.

Yost intended to give Perez the day off, but he wanted him to catch Shields. So Perez will stay in until he gets an at-bat. The Royals are trying not to over-expose Perez in the Cactus League.

"It’s a very intense position," Yost said. "It’s a very physically demanding position. So you work him in slow, too."

Reliever Louis Coleman was scratched from an appearance later this week. He dinged a finger on his pitching hand during fielding practice. He’s still been throwing bullpens, but the team is being cautious with him.
