Robinson Cano now has a new way to spell his name according to Twitter: R0bins0n Can0. Royals fans and other national spectators took to Twitter to tweet their thoughts on “Can0’s” rough night in the Home Run Derby at Kauffman Stadium. Here are some of the funniest and most notable from Monday night after fans at The K booed Cano, who didn't hit even one home run. The tweets:
@PeteAbe (Pete Abraham): Ivan Drago didn’t get booed this much when he killed Apollo Creed.
@JustinVerlander (Justin Verlander, Tigers starting pitcher): Longest boo I have ever heard - by far - for @RobinsonCano
@cgrand14 (Curtis Granderson, New York Yankees centerfielder): that was the most interesting reaction to a home run derby I’ve ever seen, but the fans were excited which is all that counts :-)
@boxcar_fritz (Alex Fritz): How uncouth of #Royals fans to boo Cano. At the All-Star game in St. Louis, the only person #stlcards booed was THE PRESIDENT.
@ICT_Hawk (Chase Roberts): Looks Like Robinson Cano didn’t have his #countrybreakfast this morning.
@APdaveskretta (David Skretta): Wonder if #Royals can offer Papa Cano a contract. They desperately need some starting pitching, and he was fantastic.
@LoMoMarlins (Logan Morrison, Miami Marlins outfielder): I think @RobinsonCano’s dad just became the front runner for the Cy Young.
@KenDavidoff (Ken Davidoff): Reggie Jackson just said he won’t attend Robinson Cano’s HOF induction.
@TonyMoeaki81 (Tony Moeaki, Chiefs tight end): Ohhh now I understand That’s why KC fans are The Best! #legends
@mickshaffer (Mick Shaffer): Just shared a french fry with Cano so he’d have at least one tater tonight.
@EricStangel (Eric Stangel): Kansas City fans did to Robinson Cano what Twitter is doing to Chris Berman
@RobinsonCano (Robinson Cano, New York Yankees second baseman): I can’t believe I have so many fans in KC lol smh can’t win them all *kanye shrug*
