The Royals haven’t officially reached the milestone, but they will sell 2 million tickets in a season for the first time since 1991, according to figures from the team.
Through 35 home games, the Royals have recorded 1,152,676 tickets sold. But including future games, the club has already sold 2,013,500 single-game tickets.
The Royals recorded 1,956,482 fans last season, their highest total since last breaking the 2 million mark in 1991 at 2,161,547.
At this pace, the Royals are on pace to break the franchise attendance record of 2,477,700 set in 1989. The Royals have sold more than 2 million tickets in 1978-80, 1982, and 1985-91.
