When she announced her departure from KSHB on Friday, Kacie McDonnell said she couldn’t say where she was headed.
On Monday, her new employer broke the news. McDonnell, who worked Sporting Kansas City’s game on Saturday, was hired by the New England Sports Network (NESN), a regional sports cable and satellite television network that is based in Watertown, Mass.
In a news release, the network said McDonnell will appear nightly on “NESN Sports Today” and “NESN LIVE,” as well as being part of “NESN Sports Update,” in mornings. The network provides coverage of the Boston Bruins, Red Sox, Celtics and New England Patriots.
McDonnell, who is from Pennsylvania, graduated from Villanova and previously worked at Fox 29 in Philadelphia, will begin in September.
“We are very excited to welcome an on-air personality of Kacie’s caliber to NESN’s sports news team,” Joseph Maar, NESN’s Vice President of Programming said in a news release. “Kacie brings an up-beat and engaging personality with a quick wit and passion for sports that should endear her to fans of New England sports.”
