For reasons I can’t explain, there are people who love the movie “Rocky IV.”
As Roger Ebert wrote at the time, “Even Sylvester Stallone seems to be getting tired of the series; as the writer and director, as well as the star, he puts himself through the same old paces.”
But, if you like the film and want a piece of movie, uh, history, then head to the Heritage Auctions web site. There you’ll see that Stallone is putting up some items for auction from his movies.
That includes the boxing trunks from his bout in “Rocky III” against Clubber Lang (Mr. T) and the boxing robe from “Rocky IV.”
Never miss a local story.
There also will be a warm-up jacket worn by actor Dolph Lundgren, who portrayed Russian bad guy/boxer Ivan Drago.
The auction will be held in October in Los Angeles.
What I can’t figure out is why there won’t be any props from the other notable Stallone movie: “Victory.”
