It’s still five months until the NCAA men’s basketball championship game in San Antonio, but ESPN’s Dick Vitale was fired up while watching Tuesday night’s Champions Classic in Chicago.
Vitale is always full of energy when calling games, but he was in midseason form during Kansas’ 65-61 win over Kentucky at the United Center.
When the Wildcats’ Kevin Knox sank a jumper to tied the game at 55-55 with 5 minutes, 34 seconds to play in the game, Vitale was beside himself.
“Oh, yeah, Kansas-Kentucky, early in the season, over 4,000 wins, No. 1, No. 2 all-time winners,” Vitale said. “It can’t get better than this! Get the goosebumps, baby!”
