You probably know that rapper Nelly has carved out a rather lucrative career by representing for his hometown of St. Louis. You might also know that he regularly pledges allegiance to Missouri football, his homestate school.
Here’s something you might not know: It appears that Nelly is … well, apparently a Kansas basketball fan.
“I like Kansas — basketball,” Nelly told ESPN’s Brett McMurphy on Thursday, while visiting ESPN’s studios in Bristol, Conn.
Nelly made it clear that his favorite college football team is still Missouri. And you know what? That’s a pretty Drake-ian sports stance from Nelly, who met Kansas football coach Charlie Weis while the Big 12’s football coaches spent a day doing the whole ESPN thing.
While we wait to see if Nelly’s Missouri citizenship is revoked, here’s a photo of Weis and Nelly getting chummy on Thursday.
