Central Missouri has two new head coaches.

Doug Karleskint has been hired as the Mules’ new men’s basketball coach, succeeding Kim Anderson. He arrives from another Division II program, Arkansas Tech, where he went 90-34 in four seasons and won the Great American Conference championship each time.

Kyle Crookes, a baseball assistant, has been promoted to succeed Tom Myers.

Both coaches will be formally introduced at the UCM Multipurpose Building Alumni Room on Tuesday in Warrensburg, Crookes at 9:30 a.m., and Karleskint at 11 a.m.

Karleskint previously served as an assistant at Stephen F. Austin and was part of staffs that took the Lumberjacks to NCAA and NIT appearances. He’s a Fort Scott, Kan., native who graduated from MidAmerica Nazarene.

Crookes had been an assistant to Myers for two years, as the Mules compiled a 71-29 record. He spent the previous eight years as the head coach at Hutchinson (Kan.) Community College.

The new coaches will attend a public reception Tuesday at Tradition’s Restaurant at the Audrey J. Walton Clubhouse at Pertle Springs at 5:30 p.m.
