Fans headed to the Scottrade Center in St. Louis for the Missouri Valley Conference basketball tournament should be aware that a portion of Interstate 64 — the main road that leads to downtown — will be closed all weekend.

The Missouri Department of Transportation will be closing Interstate 64 — or Highway 40 as the locals call it — in both directions between Kingshighway and Forest Park Avenue starting at 8 p.m. Friday.

Alternate options to get to Scottrade Center from the west include taking Interstate 44 or Interstate 70 to downtown St. Louis. An option for those taking Interstate 64 into St. Louis from the west is to exit north on I-170, take it to Forest Park Parkway east, and follow that to Market Street.
