Emporia, Central Missouri top MIAA women’s basketball polls

Emporia State and Central Missouri were picked in polls released Thursday to finish at the top of the Mid-American Intercollegiate Athletics Association for women’s basketball this season.

Emporia State and Central Missouri were picked in polls released Thursday to finish at the top of the Mid-American Intercollegiate Athletics Association for women’s basketball this season.

The Hornets, who won last season’s MIAA tournament, were picked first by the league’s coaches, and the Jennies, the tournament runner-up, were the media’s choice to win the conference. Washburn, the defending regular-season champion, was third in both polls.
