Coaches vs. Cancer charity tipoff event moves to Municipal

The annual Coaches vs. Cancer Tipoff has expanded.

The Oct. 8 charity event at Municipal Auditorium will include coaches Bill Self of Kansas, Kansas State’s Bruce Weber, Missouri’s Frank Haith, UMKC’s Kareem Richardson and Wichita State’s Gregg Marshall.

Also attending is legendary Missouri coach Norm Stewart, who founded the Coaches vs. Cancer program 20 years ago.

Kevin Harlan, an NFL, NBA and college basketball broadcaster, will serve as the emcee. A VIP reception begins at 5 p.m., with the program beginning at 6 p.m. on the Municipal Auditorium floor. Previous events were at the College Basketball Experience next to the Sprint Center.
