Area college honors

Rockhurst senior forward Mark Magee is the NCAA Division II player of the week, as chosen by the National Soccer Coaches Association, and also won the Great Lakes Valley Conference offensive player of the week honor for the second consecutive week. He scored two goals and two assists in two conference games last week, a 2-2 draw at Bellarmine and a 2-1 victory at McKendree.

• Kansas junior goalkeeper

Kaitlyn Stroud

is the Big 12 defensive player of the week. She made three saves in KU’s 2-1 win over South Dakota State and posted a seven-save shutout in a win over Illinois State last week.

• Central Missouri midfielder

Hanna Moran is the Mid-American Intercollegiate Athletics Association offensive player of the week and Missouri Southern’s Dana Wilhelm

is the conference’s defensive player of the week. Moran recorded a hat trick in the Jennies’ 5-1 win over Nebraska-Kearney on Saturday and Wilhelm helped the Lions record two shutouts last week.

• Pittsburg State’s

Jessica Macy is the MIAA’s female cross country athlete of the week. Macy, from Olathe Northwest, won the individual title at the MSSU Stampede on Saturday in her first meet with the Gorillas.
