The Kansas, Kansas State and Missouri volleyball teams were all picked to finish in the top half of their respective conferences in preseason polls announced this week.
In the Big 12, KU was picked third and K-State fourth. KU’s Caroline Jarmoc, Erin McNorton and Sara McClinton were chosen to the preseason all-Big 12 team. Texas and Iowa State were picked ahead of the Jayhawks, who were 26-7 overall and 12-4 in the Big 12 last year.
K-State’s Kaitlynn Pelger of Olathe South also was chosen to the preseason all-Big 12 team and the Wildcats’ Katie Brand was picked as co-freshman of the year.
Mizzou was picked to finish third in the SEC East. The Tigers, who were 19-12 overall and 10-10 in SEC play last year, return Lisa Henning of Blue Springs, who is the conference’s active kills leader with 1,295 in her career. Florida was picked to win the East and the conference.
Lisa Henning and Molly Kreklow were chosen to the nine-member preseason All-SEC Team on Friday.
