K-State’s opening football foe picked to win Missouri Valley

North Dakota State, which opens its football season on Aug. 30 at Kansas State, is the unanimous selection by league coaches, media and sports information directors, to win the Missouri Valley Football Conference.

North Dakota State, which opens the season on Aug. 30 at Kansas State, is the unanimous selection by league coaches, media and sports information directors, to win the Missouri Valley Football Conference.

The Bison return 18 starters from a team that won their second straight Football Championship Subdivision national title last season. Ten North Dakota State players, including quarterback Brock Jensen, were named to the preseason all-conference team.

Two Missouri State players made the squad: wide receiver Dorian Buford and defensive back Caleb Schaffitzel, and so did South Dakota State defensive lineman Doug Peete, who played at Olathe North.
