Missouri redshirt freshman linebacker Torey Boozer has been dismissed from the program because of undisclosed disciplinary reasons, according to Chad Moller, an associate athletic director at MU.

Boozer came to Missouri as a three-star linebacker from Everman, Texas, with scholarship offers from Arizona, Baylor, Houston, North Texas and Southern Methodist. He redshirted last season, but was one of three players arrested by MU police in October for suspicion of possession of fewer than 35 grams of marijuana. He pleaded guilty to an amended charge of trespassing and paid a fine.

Boozer, who was listed at third-team outside linebacker on the pre-spring depth chart, sent a Twitter message Monday saying he plans on transferring to Southern Methodist, but Brad Sutton — an associate athletic director for public relations and marketing at SMU — said he was unaware of any pending news.

Boozer is the third member of Missouri’s Class of 2012 to be dismissed from the program. Tight end Brandon Holifield was dismissed for a violation of team rules in November and safety Ka’Ra Stewart was dismissed after his second marijuana arrest last December.
