Kansas senior tight end Nick Sizemore has been suspended for the first three games of the 2013 season for a violation of team rules, KU football coach Charlie Weis announced in a statement Monday.

Sizemore, who has played two seasons at KU after transferring from Buffalo, caught two passes for 10 yards last season and also played on special teams.

According to Douglas County Sheriff’s Office records, Sizemore was arrested by Lawrence police at 1811 West Sixth Street on suspicion of operating a vehicle under the influence, failing to carry out duties upon striking an unattended vehicle and failure to report an accident.

Sizemore was booked into Douglas County Jail at 12:35 Sunday morning and was released on $700 bond.
