Missouri receiver Kerwin Stricker has decided to retire from football, team spokesman Chad Moller

confirmed Tuesday.

Moller said Stricker, who would have been a redshirt senior next season, will remain on scholarship this year to finish up his degree.

Stricker, who stands 6-feet-1 and weighs 205 pounds, dealt with a handful of injuries and never caught a pass in his four-year career at Missouri. He did, however, have a tackle in two games last season.

Stricker was a three-star prospect out of Washington, Mo., who Rivals listed as the tenth-best player in the state in the Class of 2009.
