Brock Berglund, once considered a candidate to become Kansas’ starting quarterback, is now at North Texas. Berglund confirmed the move in a text message on Thursday.
Berglund had planned on playing at Scottsdale, Ariz., Community College this season, but left the school to join Coach Dan McCarney’s program in Denton, Texas.
Berglund will sit out a year and will be eligible next season.
He enrolled at KU in January, 2011 after a standout high school career in Denver, and hoped to compete for the starting job last season. But Berglund remained in Colorado during the fall semester to clean up a legal matter and took Kansas classes on line.
Berglund was recruited by Turner Gill, but was one of 10 players dismissed from program by Charlie Weis for the spring semester.
