If starting point guard Phil Pressey decides to go to the NBA after this season, Missouri should have no shortage of options to replace him.
The Tigers picked up a commitment Wednesday night from Romulus, Mich., point guard Wes Clark, according to multiple media outlets. Clark - a four-star prospect, according to Rivals.com - is a 6-foot, 175-pounder who was in Columbia for an official visit from Sunday through Tuesday.
"I consider myself a balanced point guard," Clark told PowerMizzou.com. "I feel like if needed, I can take over a game, but with the team Missouri has and the team I think we'll have when I get there I don't think I'll have to take many shots so I'll be a distributor."
Clark, who also had offers from UConn, Pittsburgh, Illinois and USC, is the second point guard in the Class of 2013 to commit to the Tigers. The other is former Columbia Rock Bridge star Travis Jorgenson, who is spending his senior season at New Hampton Prep in New Hampshire. Tulsa transfer Jordan Clarkson, who will be eligible next year, is a two-guard who Missouri coach Frank Haith has said can also assume some point guard duties.
The Tigers have also received a commitment from 2014 point guard Anton Beard, a four-star prospect from Little Rock, Ark.To reach Terez A. Paylor, call 816-234-4489 or send e-mail to email@example.com. Follow him at twitter.com/TerezPaylor and on Instagram at TerezPaylor.
