The Southeastern Conference has released its conference basketball schedule for the upcoming season, and Missouri won’t be lacking in national exposure its first year in its new league. The Tigers are scheduled to appear in 13 national TV games, breaking the previous school record of 11, set last season.
The league’s coaches settled on the current 18-game format — which calls for annual home-and-home series with permanent cross-division football rivals and four rotating opponents — during the conference’s spring meetings this past June. Missouri will face former coach Mike Anderson and Arkansas — Missouri’s permanent rival — for the first time Feb. 16 in Fayetteville, while the Razorbacks will pay the Tigers a visit on March 5.
Missouri will play Kentucky, the defending national champion, only once this season. The Tigers will make a trip to Lexington for an 8 p.m. showdown on Feb. 23, which ill be shown on ESPN and attended by network’s “College GameDay” crew.
Missouri opens its conference schedule at 6 p.m. Jan. 8 at Mizzou Arena against Alabama, which landed former MU target and five-star forward Devonta Pollard.
Missouri has yet to release its nonconference schedule for the upcoming season.
