Defensive notes

*Looks like some of the Tigers' defensive linemen have bulked up. Brayden Burnett and Matt Hoch are listed at 10 pounds heavier than they were on the June 18 depth chart, while Blue Springs South graduate Derrion Thomas - the son of Chiefs legend Derrick Thomas - is up 15 pounds. Defensive ends Brad Madison and Shane Ray - who said he planned on gaining weight after a strong spring - are each five pounds heavier.

*Sophomore Steven Mack has passed senior George White on the depth chart at third-string defensive tackle behind Sheldon Richardson and Jimmy Burge. White, a senior, left the team and is no longer listed on the roster. He appeared in six games during his Missouri career.

*There's a bit of a shakeup at backup safety. Redshirt freshman Ian Simon, who was previously listed at third-string free safety, is now listed as the backup strong safety behind Kenronte Walker. The previous backup at the position, sophomore Daniel Easterly, is now listed at third string. Redshirt freshman Cortland Browning, previously listed as the third-team strong safety, now assumes Simon's old spot as the third-team free safety.
