When The Kansas City Star selected its All-Metro high school basketball teams in spring 2012, it did not deem Kentucky’s Willie Cauley-Stein worthy of the first or second team. Yes, that’s right. A 7-footer headed to a blue-blood program and a future unanimous first-team All-American was not thought to be one of the 10 best players in a metro area of about 2.3 million people. Who was the genius that decided this?
