Christian Colon starts at 3B, Nori Aoki plays DH at Royals finish Oakland series

It’s a quiet morning here at O.co Coliseum. The Royals have a chance to pick up a critical series victory, and they need the leader of their rotation to hold the Athletics at bay.

A few lineup quirks: Nori Aoki will play the designated hitter. With a left-hander on the mound for Oakland, Christian Colon starts at third base.

Here are the lineups as James Shields (9-6, 3.50 ERA) faces Scott Kazmir (12-3, 2.37 ERA):
