The Royals have agreed to terms with Brandon Finnegan, the left-handed pitcher from TCU they selected with the No. 17 pick in this month’s draft.
Finnegan signed for the full bonus for his draft slot, $2,200,600, according to a person with knowledge of the situation. CBS Sports first reported the bonus figure.
Finnegan, a 21-year-old from Fort Worth, went 9-3 with a 2.04 ERA for the Horned Frogs. He struck out 134 batters in 105 2/3 innings.
The Royals introduced Finnegan in a press conference before Saturday’s game.
