Omaha rallies with five in eighth and beats Memphis

Class AAA Omaha scored five times in the top of the eighth inning and rallied for a 10-6 win at Memphis on Thursday.
Jason Donald opened the inning with a walk, took second on a groundout and moved to third on a wild pitch. Brett Eibner walked and Christian Colon delivered an RBI single. Jimmy Paredes reached on an error that allowed Eibner to score. Brian Fletcher was hit by a pitch to load the bases and Paulo Orlando’s walk forced in a run.
After a force at the plate, Francisco Pena’s two-run single closed the scoring.
The Storm Chasers had 10 hits and walked seven times. Paredes, Fletcher, Orlando and Pena each had two RBIs, and Fletcher hit a solo homer.
John Lamb started and gave up four runs (three earned) on four hits in six innings. He walked four and struck out four.
Left-hander Sam Selman gave up six runs (five earned) in 3 2/3 innings as Class AA Northwest Arkansas lost 9-2 to Arkansas. Selman, 2-3, allowed six hits, walked five and struck out six. Noel Arguelles allowed three runs in one inning of work. First baseman Mark Threlkeld and catcher Juan Graterol each had two hits.
Reliever Crawford Simmons gave up six runs on eight hits over three innings and Class A Lexington lost 10-6 at Asheville. Starter Cody Reed, 0-3, gave up four runs on eight hits. He struck out five and didn’t walk a batter. Right fielder Tyler Chism hit a solo homer and designated hitter Elier Hernandez had two doubles and two RBIs.
Class A-Advanced Wilmington’s game at Lynchburg was postponed by rain.
