Royals re-sign pitcher Colon
The Royals signed right-hander Roman Colon on Monday to a minor-league contract with an invitation to spring training next month in Surprise, Ariz.

Last year, Colon, 28, was 2-0 with one save and a 5.29 ERA in 10 appearances for Class AA Northwest Arkansas and 5-5 with one save and a 4.64 ERA in 23 games, including 10 starts, for Class AAA Omaha.

Colon, who is 6 feet 6 and 225 pounds, has spent parts of three seasons in the majors, most recently with the Tigers in 2006.
