STOCKTON: 75 degrees, murky, 3 feet high. Outlook: Stockton Lake Guide Service reports: Bass fair on spinnerbaits in 5 to 8 feet of water in flooded brush; walleyes good on nightcrawler rigs off points; catfish good on juglines with worms.
JACOMO: Low 70s, clearing, near normal. Outlook: Gier’s Bass Pro reports: Bass fair on wacky-style plastic worms, jigs, topwater lures halfway back in the coves; crappies fair on jigs, minnows, crankbaits in 20 feet of water in the channels; catfish good on cut bait in 25 to 30 feet of water.
REED AREA: 70 degrees, murky, full pool. Outlook: Department of Conservation reports: Bass fair on soft-plastic baits near cover; channel catfish good on worms; bluegills, redear sunfish good on worms, small jigs.
TRUMAN: 74 degrees, fairly clear, 4 feet high. Outlook: Cody’s Guide Service reports: Crappies fair to good on jigs 17 feet down in 25 feet of water along bluffs; hybrids good on live shad in the evening in 20 to 25 feet of water on the flats; catfish fair on cut shad on the main lake. Below the dam: Crappies, catfish, hybirds poor to fair.
BULL SHOALS: Mid-70s, clear, 1 foot high. Outlook: Buck Creek Marina reports: Bass good on plastic baits, jigs in 5 to 15 feet of water off points; crappies good on minnows in 20 feet of water in the brush; walleyes fair trolling nightcrawler rigs in 20 feet of water on the flats; catfish good on a variety of baits lakewide.
POMME DE TERRE: 75 degrees, clear, 2 feet high. Outlook: Muskie Guide Service reports: Bass good on a variety of baits along banks and points; crappies fair on jigs, minnows in 15 feet of water in the brush; walleyes fair trolling crankbaits in 12 to 14 feet of water; catfish good. Below the dam: Muskies fair on crankbaits 12 feet down in 20 feet of water.
BLUE SPRINGS: Low 70s, murky, slightly high. LONGVIEW: 71 degrees, 36-inch clarity, normal. Outlook: Longview Marina reports: Catfish excellent on a variety of baits in Mouse Creek; bluegills good on crickets, pieces of worms in the shallows; crappies fair (but small) in the brush; bass fair on plastic frogs in grassy areas.

WILSON: Low 70s, clear, 6 feet low. Outlook: Knothead’s Bait and Tackle reports: Walleyes, stripers very good on nightcrawlers on the west end of the lake; smallmouth, largemouth bass good on topwater lures, plastic baits in the coves; catfish good on a variety of baits lakewide.
GLEN ELDER: 70 degrees, clearing, 2 feet high. Outlook: Wayne’s Sporting Goods reports: Walleyes, white bass and catfish good on the south and west ends of the lake; white bass good in Osage Cove.
WYANDOTTE: 72 degrees, clearing, normal. Outlook: Wyandotte Boats reports: Catfish good on chicken livers, nightcrawlers lakewide; bluegills very good on wax worms in the shallows; largemouth bass good on plastic baits.
LaCYGNE: 80 degrees, clear, normal. Outlook: Linn County Parks reports: Wipers fair to good on jigging spoons, crankbaits; bass good on plastic baits; catfish good on stinkbait at the feeders.
MELVERN: 74 degrees, fairly clear, 4.5 feet high. Outlook: Melvern Lake Marina reports: Crappies good on small crankbaits along face of the dam; bass fair on crankbaits in the coves; catfish fair to good lakewide.
COFFEY COUNTY: 84 degrees midlake, clear, normal. Outlook: Coffey County reports: Smallmouth bass excellent on finesse baits; walleyes, channel catfish, white bass, wipers, largemouth bass fair.
HILLSDALE: 76 degrees, clearing, normal. Outlook: Jayhawk Marina reports: Crappies poor to fair on jigs 6 to 12 feet down in 30 feet of water off the docks; white bass fair on topwater lures, jigging spoons on the main lake; catfish fair to good on a variety of baits.
KILL CREEK: 72 degrees, murky, normal. Outlook: Johnson County Park and Recreation District reports: Bass fair on plastic baits along the south shore; catfish fair on dough baits and worms on the island; crappies fair on minnows in deep water; sunfish fair on worms.

Brent’s best bet
With the water level rising at Wilson Reservoir due to the recent rain, the fishing has picked up. The action has been very good for walleyes and stripers, and good for smallmouth and largemouth bass.
