A pair of hammer throwers originally from Missouri will represent the U.S. in the Olympic Games.
Gwen Berry, from Florissant and competes for Nike, finished second at the U.S. Olympic Trials in Eugene, Ore., on Wednesday, with a throw of 239 feet, 9 inches.
Deanna Price, from Moscow Mills, Mo., and a graduate student at Southern Illinois, finished third also with a throw of 239-9.
Berry also attended Southern Illinois.

Taking fifth was Heavin Warner, who is from St. Joseph and just finished her senior year at Central Missouri. She’s a three-time NCAA Division II champion in the event and broke her own record at the NCAA championship in May.
Amber Campbell won the event with a throw of 242-10, moving from third to first on her final attempt.
