The Missouri Mavericks are giving their fans something extra at Silverstein Eye Centers Arena — as in extra hockey.
The Mavericks went to a shootout for the third consecutive home game on Saturday night but lost to the Alaska Aces 2-1.
Sam Povorozniouk and Radoslav Illo failed to score in the shootout, while Daniel Moynihan and Tim Wallace connected for the Aces.
The loss dropped the Mavericks’ record to 10-11-5.
Missouri scored first when Kyle Schempp connected at 6:33 of the first period.
Alaska tied it on Tim Coffman’s goal in the third period.
The Mavericks’ Dane Fox had a chance to win it in the final minute of overtime, but his shot rang off the crossbar.
Missouri goalie Ville Husso stopped 31 of 32 shots in the game.
The Mavericks’ next game will be at 7:05 p.m. Monday against the Tulsa Oilers at Silverstein Eye Centers Arena.
