The Chiefs announced Thursday that third-round pick Phillip Gaines has agreed to a contract.

Gaines, a cornerback who played at Rice, is listed at 6 feet 1 and 185 pounds. He is the third member of the Chiefs’ six-man 2014 draft class to sign a deal, just one day after fellow sixth-round pick Laurent Duvernay-Tardif, an offensive lineman, agreed to his deal.

The Chiefs have yet to sign outside linebacker Dee Ford, running back De’Anthony Thomas and quarterback Aaron Murray.
