Receivers Albert Wilson and De’Anthony Thomas worked in with the first team during goal-line team drills. … Receiver Fred Williams caught a slant for a touchdown in the end zone from quarterback Aaron Murray. … Receiver Deon Anthony caught a touchdown in the corner of the end zone in front of safety Malcolm Bronson. … Left tackle Eric Fisher has been participating in one-on-one pass-rushing drills for the last few days. He was held out of those drills early on in camp. … Center Eric Kush anchored well against massive nose tackle Dontari Poe during one-on-one drills. … In 7-on-7, Murray lofted a gorgeous throw down the left sideline to running back Joe McKnight, who hauled it in over his shoulder for the touchdown. … Receiver Junior Hemingway had a rare drop in goal line. … Running back Jamaal Charles fumbled a handoff near the goal line, and running back coach Eric Bieniemy could be heard yelling “ball security!” … Murray unleashed a high, off-target throw to receiver Darryl Surgent that sailed above his head in the end zone. … Wilson caught a touchdown in the back of the end zone from quarterback Chase Daniel.
Cornerbacks Sean Smith, Marcus Cooper and Ron Parker split reps with the first-team fairly equally. Reid said it’s because Smith, who was demoted to the second team in June, is playing well. … Smith knocked away a pass intended for Wilson. … Safety Husain Abdullah broke up a pass to receiver Dwayne Bowe over the middle. … The Chiefs showed an interesting pass-rush formation in which their top four outside linebackers — Dee Ford, Josh Martin, Justin Houston and Tamba Hali — all shared the field at the same time. … Houston was stuck defending the 6-foot-7 Demetrius Harris on a fade route in the end zone, but Houston did a nice job breaking up the pass. … Sean Smith almost picked off another fade intended for Harris in the end zone. … Cornerback Chris Harris broke up a pass from Murray intended for Surgent.
Defensive end Mike DeVito (broken hand), defensive tackles Kyle Love (ankle) and Kona Schwenke (shoulder) and kicker Ryan Succop (groin) did not practice.
Wide receiver Albert Wilson practiced after leaving Saturday’s practice with an ankle injury suffered in the game against Cincinnati. Wide receiver Donnie Avery returned after he was excused from Saturday’s practice for personal reasons.
