New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - The NBA has fined Charlotte Bobcats forward Josh McRoberts $20,000 for his hard foul on LeBron James in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference quarterfinals on Wednesday night.
McRoberts' personal foul was upgraded to a Flagrant 2 after the league deemed Thursday that he made "unnecessary and excessive contact" when he elbowed James in the neck as the Heat star went up for a basket with 50 seconds left in the game.
The foul left James visibly shaken and he made 1-of-2 foul shots for the last of his 32 points.
Miami held on for a 101-97 win to take a 2-0 lead in the best-of-seven series.
