Sporting Kansas City defender Seth Sinovic did not train with the team Tuesday, leaving his status in doubt for Friday’s match against Philadelphia. Sinovic tweaked his groin during Saturday’s win in Toronto.

Coach Peter Vermes said the club is preparing as if it will be without Sinovic on Friday. It will also be without captain Matt Besler, who must serve a one-game suspension after being ejected Saturday.

Besler received two yellow cards in the 2-1 victory against Toronto FC, leading to his ejection. The team is not allowed to appeal the ejection. Only straight red cards may be appealed, per MLS rules.
