Sporting Kansas City sent midfielder Christian Duke to USL Pro affiliate OKC Energy FC on Thursday. Oklahoma City has four games remaining on its regular-season schedule, including a trip to Arizona on Friday.

Duke has not played in a match since suffering a stress fracture in his leg on June 14. He tallied three assists in nine matches with OKC Energy FC prior to the injury.

The team also had planned to send midfielder Mikey Lopez to Oklahoma City, but the USL Pro roster freeze was implemented Tuesday.

Duke did not fall under that restriction because he was rehabbing an injury.

Duke joins Sporting KC midfielder Jimmy Medranda, who is already with the Energy.

In its inaugural season, OKC Energy FC is in eighth place in the 14-team league USL Pro. The top eight teams quality for the postseason.
