For the second time in as many years, FC Kansas City will travel to Lawrence to take on the University of Kansas in an exhibition game. The two teams will meet at 1 p.m. Saturday at Kansas’ training facility which was formerly the Jayhawk Soccer Complex and it is free to the public.

When FC Kansas City and Kansas met last season, the Blues won 4-0. FC Kansas City went on to finish second in the National Women’s Soccer League rankings and lose in the semifinals. Kansas went 7-11-2 and 2-5-1 in Big 12 play before falling in the tournament quarterfinals.

This is the third of four exhibition games for FC Kansas City, which defeated the University of Missouri and ended in a draw against the Chicago Red Stars, who also play in the NWSL. Melissa Henderson scored the lone goal for FC Kansas City off an assist from Jen Buczkowski in the 83rd minute of play.

U.S. women’s national team members Becky Sauerbrunn, Lauren Holiday and Amy Rodriguez rejoined the FC Kansas City lineup last game.
