The inaugural season of the National Women's Soccer League is treating Lauren Holiday quite nicely.
The FC Kansas City midfielder added to her collection of honors Tuesday, winning the NWSL player of the week award. Holiday scored two goals in a 3-2 victory in Portland on Sunday, extending the Blues' unbeaten streak to a league-record 10 matches.
With the pair of goals, Holiday leads the NWSL in goals (12) and assists (nine) while pacing FC Kansas City to a four-point lead atop the league standings.
Holiday has either scored or assisted on a goal in each of her last 10 games.
She previously won the NWSL player of the month award for June.
FC Kansas City has two regular season games remaining, the first of which is a match at 5 p.m. Saturday at Boston.
