FC Kansas City can do no wrong against the Seattle Reign.

The Blues disposed of Seattle for the third time in three tries this season Sunday, escaping with a 1-0 victory. A trip to the Northwest provided the cure to end a two-game losing streak.

FC Kansas City goalie Nicole Barnhart has shut out Seattle in all three matchups this season.

After the teams fought to a scoreless halftime tie, FC Kansas City, 4-3-1, applied pressure on Seattle’s defense as the second half opened. In the 63rd minute, it finally cashed in on its chances.

Erika Tymrak attempted to slide the ball past Seattle goalie Hope Solo on the near post, and Solo fumbled the shot before it ricocheted back into the goal. It was officially scored as an own goal from Solo, who was making only her second start of the season.

Tymrak started for the second straight game, replacing injured forward Renae Cuellar, who sat out beacuse of a sprained left ankle. Tymrak scored her first career professional goal Thursday in Portland.
