– The Royals reunited with right-hander reliever Blake Wood, who appeared in 106 games for the club from 2010 to 2011.

The team claimed him off waivers from Cleveland, and assigned him to Class AAA Omaha.

Wood underwent Tommy John surgery in 2012. He has pitched in nine big-league games since leaving the Royals. He posted a 7.11 ERA in seven games with the Indians this season.

To make room on the 40-man roster for Wood, the team transferred Luke Hochevar to the 60-day disabled list.
