Ned Yost’s day started Tuesday when he was nabbed by Chiefs’ security personnel while jogging at the Truman Sports Complex.
“I almost got arrested,” he said, “for taking a peek at the Chiefs doing their minicamp. They surrounded me with security. I’m not going to sell any secrets. They were fine once they figured out who I was.”
Yost made it clear that he found the incident to be amusing.
While jogging, Yost said he thought about dropping by the Chiefs’ offices to say hi to new coach Andy Reid when he noticed helmeted players.
“I stopped to see what was going on,” Yost said, “and, boom, here came the security.”
Yost was also tapped for a random, routine drug test by Major League Baseball prior to batting practice. So he had an eventful day even before the game started.
