    A visitation and funeral service was held for Bob Motley, the last surviving umpire from the Negro Leagues. In 2012, Motley received the Congressional Gold Medal for his service as a Montford Point Marine during World War II. Motley was a fixture in the Kansas City sports scene and helped found the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum in 1990.
