Thirteen high school senior football players from the Kansas City area were selected to the East team for the 42nd Annual Kansas Shrine Bowl, it was announced on Thursday morning.
The players were nominated by their coaches and elected by a panel of media members that cover high school sports from across the state. According to Shrine Bowl rules, only one senior can be selected from each high school.
The following players were selected:

Scott Hattole, Lansing
Lansing coach John McCall, who previously coached at Olathe North, also was selected to the Kansas East team coaching staff.
The Shrine Bowl events benefit a health care system of 22 Shriners Hospitals for Children, which provide pediatric specialty care, conduct research and provide teaching programs for medical professionals.
The game will be played on Saturday July 25, at Lewis Field Stadium on the Fort Hays State University campus. Kickoff will be at 7 p.m. and tickets will be available at www.kansasshrinebowl.com or by calling 800-530-5524.
