200 MEDLEY RELAY
Staley (Daniel Maynard, junior; Nathaniel Vawter, senior; Alex Gach, sophomore; Ryan Duffy, senior). In one of the Missouri state meet’s tightest races, Staley edged Rockhurst, Parkway Central and St. Louis University High by less than 1 second to take home the gold medal.
200 YARD FREESTYLE
Michael Hynes, Lee’s Summit North, junior. One of the top freestyle swimmers in the state all season, Hynes finished fifth in the 200 free and sixth in the 100 free at the Missouri state meet.
200 INDIVIDUAL MEDLEY
Ethan Bresette, Lee’s Summit North, senior. The Star’s pick for swimmer of the year proved successful in just about every event this season, but it was the 200 IM that supplied his gold medal at the Missouri state meet.
Marcin Glebocki, Park Hill, sophomore. After winning the Suburban Red Conference race, Glebocki took some momentum into the state meet, where he placed second.
David Knopke, Rockhurst, sophomore. For the second straight season, Knopke made the diving competition no contest. He totaled 436.8 points in the finals, good for a 27-point victory.
Cole Roberts, Liberty North, senior. A versatile swimmer, Roberts finished among the top eight at the state meet in three different races over the past two seasons.
Connor Gregston, Blue Springs South, senior. After posting the fastest qualifying time, Gregston settled for second place at the state meet, tapping the wall in 46.61 seconds.
Collin Nill, Rockhurst, freshman. His first high school season was memorable. He qualified for the state meet in two events and placed third in the 500 freestyle.
200 FREESTYLE RELAY
Lee’s Summit North (Michael Hynes, junior; Zach Littell, junior; James White, senior; Ethan Bresette, senior) The Broncos were strong in relay races all season. The 200 free relay team finished second at state.
AJ Iseman, Rockhurst, sophomore. The Hawklets’ underclassmen proved key to winning yet another team state title. Iseman placed fifth in the 100 backstroke.
100 BREAST STROKE
Alex Albracht, Rockhurst, junior. In addition to taking part on two relay teams, Albracht put together a pair of top-four finishes in individual events, including second place in the 100 breast stroke at the state meet.
400 FREESTYLE RELAY
Lee’s Summit North (Michael Hynes, junior; Thomas Reilly, sophomore; James White, senior; Ethan Bresette, senior). The Broncos placed third in the team standings at state, aided by the 400 free relay team’s narrow first-place finish.
