Lawrence Country Club head professional Kristen Samp shot a 69 Tuesday for a 145 total and will take a 2-shot lead into the final round of The Prairie Invitational at Milburn Country Club.
There were 18 players who made the cut and advanced to Wednesday’s Open Division play, including defending champion Kayla Eckelkamp and Olathe native Audrey Judd. Other area players making the cut: Kaleigh Ashen and Jennifer Clark of Overland Park, Chandler Gallagher and Samantha Paulak of Kansas City, Courtney Mahon-Gildea and Megan Propeck of Leawood, Kallie Gonzales of (Lawrence) and Rosie Klausner of Olathe.
The Kansas Women’s Amateur championship is being conducted in conjunction with The Prairie Invitational. Seven players eligible to compete for the Kansas Women’s Amateur title advanced to Wednesday’s play.
Judd leads the Kansas Women’s Amateur competition by 5 strokes going into the final round.

The Prairie Invitational Players Division and KWGA Players Division both completed play after 36 holes Tuesday.
Barbara Cusick won both The Prairie Invitational Players Gross Championship as well as the KWGA Players Gross Championship with a 2-round total of 161. Victoria Klausner was one shot behind at 162.
Sarah Lawson won her first Players Division Net Championship by 7 shots over defending champion Julie Young of Raymore.
Robbin Wasson of Kansas City and Victoria Klausner of Olathe tied for first in the KWGA Players Net Division.
