Tom Watson is one cool dude.

No, Watson won’t win the PGA Championship at the Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Ky. Watson, 64, followed his opening 72 with a 73 on Friday and finished 3-over. Pretty solid couple of days, but the projected cut is even par.

Still, he looked like a winner if this story is true.

Jason Sobel, a writer for GolfChannel.com, tweeted a funny story about Watson on Friday, and Watson’s reaction simply reiterated why he is so beloved.

Kids these days. Watson is captain of the Ryder Cup team and has won eight majors, so he could have been a bit peeved about not being recognized.

But that apparently wasn’t the case.
