For fans of West Virginia and TCU, the newest members of the Big 12 Conference, whether their teams won or lost Wednesday night didn't matter. This trip to a new town and a new tournament was about support, a chance to check out Kansas City, and pride.

It’s been a lousy year for Texas by Rick Barnes’ standards, but at least the Longhorns didn’t forget how to win in the Big 12 Tournament. Texas ran its streak with at least one postseason victory to eight years with a 70-57 victory over TCU on Wednesday night in the Sprint Center.

When it comes to picking the best basketball teams in the Big 12, a few favorites emerge. But picking the best college town eats in the conference is a bit tougher. So were going to let you decide the Big 12 Food Tournament championship.
Texas Tech pulled off a 71-69 victory over West Virginia with a last-second bucket from junior forward Dejan Kravic in the opening game of the Big 12 Tournament on Wednesday night at the Sprint Center. And the reward is another battle with No. 1 seed Kansas, which dismantled the Red Raiders by 37 points on March 4.
Iowa State couldn’t make a shot. Then the Cyclones couldn’t miss, and they advanced to a Big 12 Tournament semifinal matchup against Kansas with a dramatic 73-66 comeback victory over Oklahoma on Thursday afternoon.
Somehow, Pierre Jackson got a great look at the basket for a final attempt.
The Big 12 mens basketball tournament starts at 6 tonight in the Sprint Center, but there are some changes this year. The biggest is the Big 12 lineup. The home-state Missouri Tigers are absent, now playing in the Southeastern Conference tournament in Nashville, Tenn.
