UMKC won’t ease into the basketball season.

The Kangaroos open the regular season at Missouri and visit Kansas State in their next game.

The games are part of the Maui Invitational early rounds, although UMKC won’t be going to Hawaii.

The game against the Tigers will be the first in the regular season for new Mizzou coach Kim Anderson.

For the second straight year, the Kangaroos will play almost all of their home games at Municipal Auditorium.

The regular-season home opener, against Missouri S&T on Nov. 19 will be played on campus at Swinney Recreation Center. Twelve other regular-season games, plus a preseason game against Rockhurst on Nov. 8, are set for Municipal.

Game times will be announced at a later date.
