Mississippi at Missouri
▪ WHEN/WHERE: 8 p.m. Wednesday at Mizzou Arena in Columbia
▪ TV/RADIO: SEC Network; KMBZ (98.1 FM)
▪ ABOUT MISSOURI (8-13, 1-7 SEC): The Tigers have lost six straight games, including a home loss against Mississippi State on Saturday. Coach Kim Anderson’s squad shot 2 for 25 from three-point range against the Bulldogs’ zone. It’s a good bet Mississippi, which has a size advantage inside, will dare Missouri to beat them from the perimeter. Knocking down shots early to build some confidence could be key. The Tigers’ scoring average, shooting percentage, field-goal defense and three-point shooting percentage all rank last in the SEC.
▪ ABOUT MISSISSIPPI (13-8, 3-5 SEC): The Rebels are one of three teams, along with Missouri and Alabama, still seeking the season’s first SEC road win. Junior Sebastian Saiz, who leads Mississippi with 9.8 rebounds per game and ranks second behind senior Stefan Moody averaging 12.8 points, had surgery two weeks ago to repair a partially detached retina. His status against Missouri is unclear. Moody also was hampered recently by a hamstring injury. He sat the final 10 minutes in a five-point loss Saturday at Kansas State.
